Through an agreement with the Bureau of Land Management, PRBO Conservation Science had a number of objectives relating to the Le Conte’s thrasher (LCTH), a species of special concern in the State of California. The objectives were as follows:
- Collect baseline data
- Describe and refine knowledge of spatial distribution of Le Conte’s thrasher throughout the Monument
- Develop and test appropriate monitoring protocols for this species
- Collect information on habitat associations and key habitat features within the Monument
- Develop an online data-entry site to allow for the systematic collection, sharing and analysis of population data over the long-term
